Crystal River
Drive time: 20 minutes
If you’re a nature lover, you absolutely have to check out Crystal River. In this small town, you can enjoy swimming with manatees, snorkeling, and kayaking in water that’s so clear, you can see right through it.
After some fun in the sun, head over to Crystal River Archaeological State Park, where you’ll explore ancient Native American burial mounds and temple mounds. When it’s time to eat, there are tons of great seafood restaurants and cafes to choose from, such as Seafood Seller & Cafe, and Vintage on 5th.
Clearwater Beach
Drive time: 1.5 horus
Make a day of maritime magic in Clearwater Beach, located 90 minutes from Homosassa. It’s a bit of a trek, but totally worth it. The beaches are unreal, with white sand and crystal clear waters.
